Celtics quiet on old friend Ray Allen


Ray Allen has left the Celtics and brought a whole heap of anger to theHeat. His careless comments about Doc Rivers and the program have left him in hot water. The Celtics and Heat meet in the NBA's season opener on Tuesday in Miami.

Murray State suspends Zay Jackson

Murray State has suspended Zay Jackson. Jackson had been suspended indefinitely last month after his arrest after striking two people with his car in a Wal-Mart parking lot following an altercation. He pleaded guilty on Oct. 12 to wanton endangerment and was to be sentenced Monday.

Stephen Rogers ends career

Recurring knee problems have ended the playing career of a Brigham Young senior forward.
BYU coach Dave Rose announced Wednesday.The 6-foot-8 Rogers was part of a BYU team that won a school-record 32 games in 2010-11 and reached the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.
